Overview:

The Department of Electronics & Communication was established in the year 1997. The Department has well equipped laboratories and highly qualified and dedicated faculty members. Besides imparting quality education to the students, the department is constantly involved in updating and modernising the infrastructure, teaching methodology and aiming at creating abreast knowledge in the cutting – edge technology in the respective field to meet the international standards , Keeping in mind the VTU curriculum.The department has currently has an intake of 90 students.

“EC DEPT offers to support the institution to promote technical education par-excellence. In achieving new heights by providing modern teaching, excellent laboratory facilities / infrastructure, supported by a team of efficient faculty in turn, encouraging sports and cultural activities”.

Mission:

• To create atmosphere of commitment towards the objectives and adopt with a true spirit by faculty    members.
• Educating and encouraging the students to amalgamate with global needs through International standards.
• Envisaging the quality of education as a multidimensional concept thus inculcating creativity in the system so    as to empower the students to posses strong technical back ground.

Short Term Goals

• Aiming at good results and Accreditation Status.
• Boosting the confidence and grooming the students to gain recognition in the challenging area.
• Accommodate the students for projects and to equip them to meet the global technical challenges.

Long Term Goals

• Practice the Profession with Integrity, Conscience, dignity, Honour and following the best traditions in the    Profession.
• To enhance infrastructural facilities to faculties to orient themselves towards research and Development for    technical and sound knowledge to achieve newer heights in the field of teaching.
• To maintain excellent Alumni relations to strengthen the bondage to share and enrich the knowledge    amongst the student fraternity.

• Real time Systems for 7th semester (06EC762)
• Operating systems for 7th semester (06EC751)
• GSM for 8th semester (06EC844)
• Network Security for 8th semester (06EC832)

Events:

• A three days workshop on “Visual Basic based PIC Embedded System” was held on 7- 9th April 2010.
• A two days workshop on “Fundamentals of HDL “was held on 21-22nd February 2010.
• 2 days workshop on “Real Time Implementation on DSP Algorithms” was held on 23-24th February 2007
